World Finals: Arrival – updated
25 November 2012
Yesterday was registration day and, for many, it was their first contact with the track using rental karts as today was the kart raffle and scruteneering. The Kartodromo Internacional do Algarve (KIA) is part of a fantastic motorsports complex. The track is 1600 meters long with a straight away that has nearly 400 meters.
Since last year, the kart raffle is done electronically. The driver shows his identity card, then the card is scanned and the software randomly picks a kart for the driver. Then, the real job starts with kart preparation and installation (seat, data acquisition system, etc). Drivers will still have tomorrow morning to prepare their karts and the first practice will take place after lunch. We don’t know yet when the timing system and video feed will be available online but as soon we will have the information we will tell you.
Don’t forget to follow us also on our Facebook page where we will post additional information.
