With the presentation of the last round of the Gatorz – Challenge of the Americas last weekend, this closed the US winter series. From them, two Canadian drivers will join Team Canada to race at the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals next November in Portugal.

The first Canadian to qualify for the RMCGF was Nicholas Latifi, from Ontario, by winning the Championship title of the DD2 class at the Florida Winter Tour. This will be the third participation in a row for Latifi after Italy in 2010 as a junior driver and last year in U.A.E. in the DD2 class where he finished 7th overall.

The second driver is Zacharie Scalzo, from Québec, who claimed the title in the MAX Junior class at the Gatorz – Challenge of the Americas. It will be his first participation at the Rotax Grand Finals.

With the eleven drivers who will qualify from the ASN Canada-FIA National Championships, the National series Western Canadian Championships and Eastern Canadian Karting Championships, a minimum of thirteen drivers will represent Canada in Portugal. Additional drivers may be added from the Pan-American Challenge.
